IN RE: VALUATION OF PERSONAL PROPERTY
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS, the State of Michigan, through its State Tax Commission, has issued a
Schedule of Multipliers for the valuation of Personal Property for ad valorem tax purposes
for 1965; and
WHEREAS, the Equalization Committee of the Oakland County Board of Supervisors has
studied this schedule in detail and is of the opinion that the schedule as issued is unlawful in
that it bestows an unwarranted amount of depreciation on Personal Property, resulting in
values that do not produce true cash value as required by law; and
WHEREAS, your Committee believes that the matter should be studied and discussed
further with the appropriate State Officials;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the matter be further referred to the Supervisors
Inter-County Committee with the request that a further study be made of this question, as it
affects Personal Property in the six county area, and that a report be submitted to the various
Boards of Supervisors before September 1, 1965.
MR. CHAIRMAN, on behalf of the Equalization Committee, I move the adoption of the
foregoing resolution.
