Remer Seeley Tins an BY Mr. Fouts IN RE: VALUATION OF PERSONAL PROPERTY TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, the State of Michigan, through its State Tax Commission, has issued a Schedule of Multipliers for the valuation of Personal Property for ad valorem tax purposes for 1965; and WHEREAS, the Equalization Committee of the Oakland County Board of Supervisors has studied this schedule in detail and is of the opinion that the schedule as issued is unlawful in that it bestows an unwarranted amount of depreciation on Personal Property, resulting in values that do not produce true cash value as required by law; and WHEREAS, your Committee believes that the matter should be studied and discussed further with the appropriate State Officials; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the matter be further referred to the Supervisors Inter-County Committee with the request that a further study be made of this question, as it affects Personal Property in the six county area, and that a report be submitted to the various Boards of Supervisors before September 1, 1965. MR. CHAIRMAN, on behalf of the Equalization Committee, I move the adoption of the foregoing resolution. EQUALIZATION COMMITTEE #4404 Moved by Fouts supported by Meichert the resolution be adopted. Discussion followed. Moved by Clarkson supported by Perinoff the resolution be amended by inserting the words "clarified as machinery, equipment, furniture and fixtures" after the words "Personal Property" in the fourth oar rat.
