IN RE: PROVISION FOR CARE OF COUNTY TUBERCULOSIS PATIENTS
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS, the Oakland County Board of Supervisors, at its meeting on
February 23, 1965 (Miscellaneous Resolution 4413), adopted a policy providing for
hospitalization within Oakland County for as many as possible of patients suffering
from tuberculosis; and
WHEREAS, in order to implement this policy Miscellaneous Resolution 4415 was
adopted authorizing the remodeling of the Medical Care Facility to accommodate its
use for this purpose; and
WHEREAS, new information and further developments have been received by
your Ways and Means Committee since that date which seriously affect the policy above
adopted; and
WHEREAS, after careful review of such information your Ways and Means Committee
deems it to the best interests of the County that all tuberculosis patients for which the
County has a responsibility for the hospitalization thereof be cared for in suitable non-
County operated tuberculosis facilities; such hospitalization to be under the direction
and approval of the County Health Director; and
WHEREAS, the information above noted has been fully detailed to this Board of
Supervisors;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the policy above recommended by the
Ways and Means Committee be adopted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that insofar as it conflicts with this policy Miscellaneous
Resolution 4413 be rescinded.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Miscellaneous Resolution 441 above cited be
rescinded in its entirety.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any other resolutions previously adopted by
this Board, insofar as they may conflict with this policy, be likewise rescinded.
MR. CHAIRMAN, on behalf of the Ways and Means Committee, I move the
adoption of the foregoing resolution.
