IN RE: SOUTH OAKLAND COUNTY HEALTH CENTER - ASSURANCE OF NON-
DISCRIMINATION
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS, it is a policy of the Michigan Department of Health that no
application for financial assistance in the cost of construction of hospitals, health
centers, or medical facilities will be approved unless the State Agency has adequate
assurance that the entire facility will be operated without discrimination on the basis
of race, creed, color, sex or national origin,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Oakland
County, Pontiac, Michigan, hereby gives assurance to the Michigan Department of
Health that all portions and services of the entire facility of the South Oakland County
Health Center, Southfield, Michigan, for construction of which, or in connection
with which, aid under the Federal acts is sought, will be operated without discrimination
on account of race, creed, color, sex or national origin, and that no professionally
qualified person will be discriminated against on account of race, creed, color, sex or
national origin with respect to the privilege of professional practice in the facility.
MR. CHAIRMAN, on behalf of the Ways and Means Committee, I move the
adoption of the foregoing resolution.
