OWEN TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen Claude W. Owen, a former member of this Board, passed away on June 22, 1965, at the age of 79, in Dunedin, Florida. He was a retired farmer and had resided most of his life in Groveland Township in Oakland County. He was a member of this Board, having served as Groveland Township Supervisor in 1930, and served on the County Drain Committee and the Boys and Girls Clubs Mr. Owen was also Justice of the Peace of Groveland Township and served as Township Trustee for 6 years. He was president of the Brandon School Board for 12 years and was a member of the Ortonviile Methodist Church. Claude W. Owen will be mourned by all those who knew him and his dedication to the welfare of his community and its citizens will long be remembered. Surviving are his wife, Lena; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Widiger of Midland, and Mrs. Georginia LazeIle of Pontiac; three sons, Linfond and Stewart of Ortonville, and Charles A. of Darin, Connecticut; one brother; one sister; and 16 grandchildren. MR. CHAIRMAN, I move that the foregoing memorial be spread upon the minutes of this meeting of the Board of Supervisors and that the County Clerk be instructed to forward a certified copy thereof to his surviving wife Lena.
