HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1965.12.21 - 19676Miscellaneous Resolution 4521 December 21, 1965 BY: Mr. Ingraham IN RE: RECOGNITION OF OAKLAND COUNTY COMMISSION ON ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS the Oakland County Commission on Economic Opportunity is a non- profit private corporation, duly organized under the laws of the State of Michigan for the purpose of implementing the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 in Oakland County; and WHEREAS the Chairman of the Oakland County Board of Supervisors has designated certain County representatives to serve on the Commission; and WHEREAS the Oakland County Commission on Economic Opportunity has been funded by the Office of Economic Opportunity to carry out programs intended to search out and alleviate the causes of poverty; and WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Supervisors has ever been concerned about the plight of poor people within the County; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Supervisors does recognize the Oakland County Commission on Economic Opportunity as the imple- menting agency for the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 in Oakland County; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Supervisors will continue to take an interest in and support the Oakland County Commission on Economic Opportunity by maintaining representation upon the Commission.
