IN RE: REFERRED RESOLUTION
VIETNAM POLICY
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
A resolution from the Genesee County Board of Supervisors was received and
considered by your Veterans Affairs Committee. Said resolution reads as follows:
"WHEREAS, the Veterans Committee of this Genesee County Board of
Supervisors met on November 8, 1965, in the City of Flint, Genesee
County, Michigan; and
"WHEREAS, your Committee, being concerned regarding the demonstra-
tions of a relatively few individuals concerning the assistance of our
Nation to the South Vietnamese in their struggle for autonomy, freedom
of expression and self government; and
"WHEREAS, your Committee believes that it is important to our chosen
public officials and also to the peoples of other countries to understand
that a great majority of the citizens of our Nation have confidence in
and earnestly support our governmental and international policies;
"NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that it be made known that this
Board of Supervisors of Genesee County, Michigan, expresses its utmost
confidence in and complete support of the expressed and active policies
and actions of our Government in South Vietnam."
MR. CHAIRMAN, with concurrence of and on behalf of the Veterans Affairs
Committee, I move that the Oakland County Board of Supervisors lend support to the
Genesee County resolution.
