IN RE: SUPERVISORS & CHAIRMAN PER DIEM INCREASE
April 18, 1966
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies & Gentlemen:
WHEREAS, members of this Board of Supervisors are presently being paid per diem
at the rate of S15.00 per day, plus mileage, and the Chairman is being paid per diem at
the rate of $25.00 per day, plus mileage; and
WHEREAS, Act 156 of the Public Acts of 1851 as amended, provides that the
Board of Supervisors may establish a new rate of compensation by resolution adopted by
an affirmative vote of 2/3 of the members; and by a resolution adopted by an affirmative
vote of 2/3 of the members may provide a per diem rate for the Chairman in an amount
larger than that established for other members of the Board; and
WHEREAS, this Committee believes that this Board of Supervisors should establish
per diem rate for supervisor members at the rate of $25.00 per day and for the Chairman
of this Board at $35.00 per day, plus mileage;
NOW THEREFORE on behalf of the By-Laws Committee I move that this recommenda-
tion be referred to the Ways and Means Committee for appropriate action.
