scellaneous Resolution November 7, 1962
BY: Mr. Tiley
IN RE: UNION LAKE CITY PROPOSED INCORPORATION
To the Oakland County Board of Supervisors
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Your Boundaries Committee reports as follows:
On August 2, 1962, a petition was filed to incorporate the proposed City of
Union Lake. Your Committee was informed by Mr. Richard Betzing, Tax Description
Engineer, of a difference in the legal description as contained in the petition and the
map attached thereto. By letter dated August 16, 1962, the Corporation Counsel
advised your Committee that this would invalidate the petition.
Your Committee held hearings with all of the interested parties and afforded the
petitioners an opportunity to file a substitute petition to correct the error in the description.
Since a substitute petiti on has not been filed, your Committee on October 30, 1962,
held a meeting and adopted a resolution to recommend to the Board that no further proceedings
be taken on the petition to incorporate the proposed City of Union Lake.
THEREFORE, MR. CHAIRMAN, on behalf of the Committee, I offer the following
resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED that the petition filed on August 2, 1962, to incorporate the
territory therein described as the City of Union Lake be hereby found insufficient for
reason of error in the legal description as contained in the petition which is different from
the territory shown on the map attached thereto and that no further proceedings be had with
respect to said petition.
MR. CHAIRMAN, on behalf of the Boundaries Committee, I move the adoption
of the foregoing resolution.
