HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1962.11.07 - 199334045 Miscellaneous Resolution November 7, 1962 BY: Mr. Heacock IN RE: RIGHT OF WAY, SARASOTA STREET, PONTIAC CITY To the Oakland County Board of Supervisors Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, the City of Pontiac is desirous of procuring the following described property, to-wit: A strip of land 60 feet in width, the center line of which is described as follows: Commencing at the intersection of the center line of Sarasota Ave. and the northerly property line of Tallahassee Ave. as laid out in Dixieland Sub, of part of the N 1/2 of Sec. 19, T. 3 N., R. 10E0, City of Pontiac, Oakland County, Michigan, thence N 00° 17 00" W 125,00 feet along the center line of Sarasota Ave. to the northerly line of Dixieland Sub., said point being the point of beginning, thence continuing N 00° 171 00" W, 844,52 feet to an angle point, thence N 7° 42' 40" E, 156,93 feet to the southerly line of Kennett Rd. Contains 1.38 acres For right-of-way for the so-called "Sarasota Street", and WHEREAS, the County is the owner of said property, and WHEREAS, the City of Pontiac, through its City Commission by resolution dated October 30, 1962, has approved accepting a quit-claim deed for said described property in consideration for a waiver by the City of the special assessment for the grade and gravel project on said street, and WHEREAS, the said right of way is adjacent to County owned land, and the construction of Sarasota Street will benefit and be of value to the adjacent real estate owned by the County; THEREFORE, consistent with the policy of this Board to cooperate with the City of Pontiac, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chairman and Clerk of this Board be authorized to execute a quit-claim deed to the above described property to the City of Pontiac.
