Horton t-ank J., Vol BY: Ways and Means Committee IN RE: RESOLUTION OF BOARD OF SUPERVISORS SUPPORTING PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES IN PRESENT CRISIS To the Oakland County Board of Supervisors Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, President Kennedy has taken firm and courageous action in the present international crisis in Cuba; and WHEREAS, leaders of both political parties have voiced their full support of the action which the President has taken in the Cuban situation; and WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors, in regular session assembled today, has considered the difficult problems which face this country and the world, and is firm in its opinion that the action taken by the President was wise and should have the full support of the members of this Board. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board of Supervisors, by the adoption of this resolution, express its full support of the action taken by President Kennedy in the Cuban crisis. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be directed to forthwith send a certified copy of this resolution to President Kennedy, with the Seal of the County of Oakland, Michigan, affixed thereto. MR. CHAIRMAN, I move the adoption of the foregoing resolution. - WAYS AND MEANS/COMMITTEE The resolution was adopted.
