Since that date your Committee has reviewed this new Act and has met with Iwo of the Circuit Judges who represented the Circuit Court, the County Clerk, the Prosecuting Attorney and the President of the Oakland County Bar Association. A report of that meeting on October 12, 1962, has previously been furnished to each member of the Board. At the meeting of the Ways and Means Committee on November 5, 1962, the question was again considered and a resolution was adopted recommending that the matter be tabled for consideration until after the April 1963 election when the new Constitution is to be submitted to the voters. The Committee recommends that this action be taken at this time in view of the possibility of consideration in this County of home rule if the new Constitution is adopted and that the matter of selection of a Jury Commission should be considered in the drafting of a County Charter. Under the new Act Jury Commissioners would be appointed for a 6-year term. Since it is not clear as to whether such a Commission could be incorporated in and made a part of a new County Charter, your Committee deemed it best to delay final action until that time. MR. CHAIRMAN, I offer the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED that the matter of whether or not a Jury Commission shall be established in Oakland County under Act 104 of the Public Acts of 1962 be tabled.
