CATCHER INC. GRANT PROGRAM ACCEPTANCE
To the Oakland County Board or Commissioners
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS, the Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission, having been
notified of the availability of grants for 2012 by the Organization for Bat Conservation,
applied for grant funding; ; and
WHEREAS, the Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission was notified on
February 7, 2012, that it was awarded a 2012 Critter Catchers grant for a live animal bat
conservation workshop valued at $250; and
WHEREAS, the Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission is dedicated to
natural resource conservation and education.
NOW THEREFORE1T BE RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners authorizes and approves the 2012 Critter Catchers grant award for a live
animal bat conservation workshop valued at $250.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners directs
its Chairperson or designee to execute said grant agreement on behalf of the County of
Oakland.
Chairperson, on behalf of the Planning and Building Committee, I move the adoption of
the foregoing resolution.

Dear Ms. Doughtery,
Congratulations, Oakland County Parks and Recreation has been chosen as a 2012 Critter Catchers Inc.
grant recipient. We are very excited to work with your organization this year!
To begin the process of receiving the grant funded program, we need you to read the attached contract,
initial each line, sign at the bottom of the contract and return it to myself, Michelle McIntosh at the
Organization for Bat Conservation (OBC) via fax, email or mail. Contact information is below. You will
then need to call or email me at OBC to schedule the date of your program by Friday, February 24th. The
last two weeks in June and the entire months of July and October are not available for grant-funded
programming.
Once you schedule your program, you will receive a program contract. Please, look over the contract to
make sure the information is correct, then sign the contract and return a copy to OBC. The funds for the
program are paid directly to the Organization for Bat Conservation from Critter Catchers Inc., your
responsibilities are to meet the grant criteria two weeks prior to the program and provide the
documentation (ie press release, newsletter) to OBC. If needed, OBC does have mock press releases for
our programs, which you will only need to insert your organization's information and send to your local
media.

2012 Program Grant Contract
Congratulations, you have been accepted to receive a Critter Catchers Inc. grant funded live animal program,
presented by the Organization for Bat Conservation. In order to make this experience a positive one for everyone
involved, please read and initial the following statements and sign the bottom of the contract.

_My organization is able meet all the Critter Catcher Inc. grant requirements that we identified on the grant
application.
The date for the presentation and program choice (Bats of the World or Animal Adaptations) must be scheduled
by Friday, February 24, 2012 in order to secure grant funding. If an extension is needed I will contact the
Organization for Bat Conservation prior to February 24, 2012, otherwise our grant funding will be passed
onto the next qualified recipient. View program descriptions at www.batconservation.org under live shows
menu. NOTE: The last two weeks ofJune and the months ofJuly and October are not available for grant-funded
programs due to our high volume of scheduled programming.
_ I will ensure that all requirements are met by a designated due date two weeks prior to my scheduled program.
If the requirements are not met by the designated date my organization will be responsible for payment in
full for the program presented on the day of the presentation.
_ I understand that the Critter Catchers Inc. grant will pay up to $250 toward an Organization for Bat
Conservation program. If my organization's program fee, with travel, is more than the allotted $250, my
organization is responsible for the remainder of the fee.

Our Commitment to you:
Critter Catchers Inc. will provide funding up to two hundred and fifty dollars for the above organization to
experience a live animal program presented by the Organization for Bat Conservation.
OBC will serve as the liaison between Critter Catchers Inc. and the above organization. OBC will also provide a fun
and interactive live animal presentation on the date of your organization's choosing. As well as provide the Critter
Catchers Inc. banner on the day of the presentation.

Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Pursuant to Rule XII-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has reviewed the above referenced resolution
and finds:
1. The Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission is dedicated to natural resource
conservation and community education.
2. On February 7, 2012 Critter Catchers, Inc. awarded the Oakland County Parks and
Recreation Commission a non-cash grant valued at $250 for a live animal education
presentation by the organization for bat conservation at County parks.
3. Grant acceptance does not obligate the County to any matching funds.
4. A budget amendment is not required.
