Levin Miscellaneous Resolution 4134 March 21, 1963 BY: Mr. Webber IN RE: NAMING OF "TULL LAKE" IN WHITE LAKE TOWNSHIP TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, at the meeting of the Board on March 6 a resolution was adopted requesting the Miscellaneous Committee to consider the matter of officially naming a lake in White Lake Township "Tull Lake", and WHEREAS, this lake is located in Oakland County, White Lake Township, Sections 23 and 24, Town 3 North, Range 3 East, and WHEREAS, the developers of the property located in Twin Lakes Village Subdivision requested permission of the Michigan Department of Conservation to name the lake in honor of Mr. Tull, from whom a majority of the property constituting the Subdivision was purchased, but were informed that the name could not become official during the lifetime of Mr. Tull, and WHEREAS, Mr. Tull, a prominent business man and civic leader, has since died, and WHEREAS, it is desirable to have the lake named officially so that it may appear on State maps; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the lake in Twin Lakes Village Subdivision, White Lake Township, be officially named "Tull Lake". BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk forward a certified copy of this resolution to the United States Board on Geographic Names. MR. Murphy, Jr. County Clerk County of Chland Pontiac, Michigan Dear Mr. Murphy: This will acknowledge receipt of the Resolution of the Oakland County Board of Supervisors to name a lake in White Lake Township in honor of Mr. Tull. A case brief for the proposed name "Tull Lake" has been prepared for the consideration of the Board on Geographic Names, and a decision may be expected in 60 to 90 days. In order to complete our file on this proposal, however, it would be useful to have Mr. Tull's full name, the dates of his birth and death, and possibly a short bi- ography. This information might be included in the published decision if the proposed name is approved for Federal use by the Board. Sincerely yours, 0.
