HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1963.03.20 - 20068Uward BeecheT Miscellaneous Resolution 4135 BY Mr. Webber IN RE: ACT NO. 128 OF THE PUBLIC ACTS OF 1962 (SUNDAY CLOSING LAW) TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, your Committee met on March 15 and considered the written communications received relative to Act 128 of the Public Acts of 1962, commonly known as the Sunday Closing Law, and WHEREAS, said Act will take effect on March 28, 1963, and WHEREAS, Section 9 of said Act provides that the Board of Supervisors, after notice and hearing and with concurrence of 2/3 of the members elect, may permit the sale of specific items prohibited by said Act, and WHEREAS, your Committee believes the County should permit the sale of items prohibited by this Act, and WHEREAS, your Committee recommends to this Board that a public hearing, after proper notice, be held; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Supervisors, pursuant to the provisions of Section 9 of Act 128 of the Public Acts of 1962, after notice, conduct a public hearing as to whether the County should permit or prohibit sale of specific items listed in said Act. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors set a date for the public hearing and order notices to be given for said hearing. MR.
