HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1963.04.15 - 20111Miscellaneous Resolution 4156 April 15, 1963 BY: Mr. Heacock IN RE: SALE OF COUNTY OWNED LAND TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, the Buildings and Grounds Committee on June 26, 1962, approved a motion to offer several parcels of land for sale, including Lot 365, Prairie Lawn Acres, Sub. #3, City of Royal Oak, Oakland County, Michigan, being 3343 Cummings Avenue, and WHEREAS, the above described property was offered for sale by Public Auction on July 24, 1962 and November 14, 1962, and no bids were received on the same, and WHEREAS, this Committee believes that this is surplus property and holding said land would serve no useful purpose to the County, and WHEREAS, the Committee believes it would be to the best interest of the County to sell this property and place the same on the tax roll of the assessing district, and WHEREAS, this Committee has secured an appraisal by the Equalization Department of this land, and WHEREAS, this Committee received an offer to purchase this land for the sum of $2,000.00 from Morris Huler, through Edwin V. Clarke Associates, re& estate brokers in Royal Oak, Michigan, which sum is not less than the appraised value, and WHEREAS, this Committee on March 28, 1963, authorized the Board of Auditors to execute a sales agreement with Morris Huler and to pay a 10% commission to the said broker; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Auditors and Buildings and Grounds Committee be authorized to sell the above described property to Morris Huler in accordance with the By-Laws of the Board of Supervisors, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairman and Clerk of the Board of Supervisors be and they are hereby authorized to execute the necessary conveyance to complete this sale. ca cock, Chairman q:6W-C7,„ Allc.rton, Leroy Davis C.
