Re: WEST BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP WATER AND SEWER SYSTEMS

Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
I move the adoption of the following resolution which was approved by the
Board of Public Works:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, West Bloomfield Township has by previous resolutions requested
and authorized the Oakland County Department of Public Works to operate and
maintain water systems in Pine Center Subdivision, West Bloomfield Hills Sub-
division, Knollwood Heights Subdivision, Bloomfield Knolls Subdivision, and
Pine Lake Estates Subdivision, all in the Township of West Bloomfield, and
WHEREAS, such systems were established as County Systems, under the
Department of Public Works by action of this Board, under Misc. Resolutions Nos.
3451, 3548, 3617, 3673 and 3908, and
WHEREAS, the Oakland County Department of Public Works has been oper-
ating and maintaining said subdivision water systems under the provisions of
Act 185 of Public Acts of 1957 (as amended), and
WHEREAS, the previous resolutions by West Bloomfield Township provided
for the return of the above water systems to the Township, and
WHEREAS, at this time West Bloomfield Township deems it in the best in-
terest of the Township to operate and maintain their own water and sewage systems,
and
WHEREAS, the Township of West Bloomfield did on August 21, 1963, rescind
all previous resolutions authorizing the County of Oakland through its Department
of Public Works to operate and maintain the above subdivision's water and sewage
systems, and

WHEREAS, the Township of West Bloomfield requests the County of
Oakland through its Department of Public Works to take the necessary action to
transfer the ownership of the above water and sewage systems to West Bloom-
field Township, and
WHEREAS, the Township of West Bloomfield agrees to pay to the County
of Oakland any deficiencies incurred by said Department of Public Works for
operating and maintaining the above subdivision's water and sewage systems
as determined by an audit satisfactory to both the Department of Public Works
and West Bloomfield Township.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Resolutions Nos. 3451, 3548,
3617, 3673, and 3908, that established such water and sewage systems within
West Bloomfield Township as County Systems be rescinded, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of Public Works be authorized
to take the necessary action to return all water and sewage systems now held by
Oakland County to West Bloomfield Township upon payment of all deficiencies
as determined by final audit.
