IN RE: HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT - SALARY ADMINISTRATION PLAN 2'd QUARTERLY
REPORT FOR FY2012
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS the Salary Administration Plan approved by the Board of Commissioners for Salary
Grades 1 - 21 provides a process for departments and employees to request a review of the salary grade
placement of classifications; and
WHEREAS the 2nd Quarterly Report for FY 2012 identifies the job studies conducted and the salary
grade changes recommended by the Human Resources Department after completion of this review process;
and
WHEREAS funding is available in the Classification and Rate Change fund to implement GF/GP
salary grade changes resulting from this Salary Administration Plan Quarterly Report recommendation; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland Board of Commissioners authorizes
implementation of the Salary Administration Plan 2 nd Quarterly Report for FY 2012, which includes the
following classification changes:

IN RE: HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT — SALARY ADMINISTRATION PLAN 2nd QUARTERLY REPORT FOR FY
2012
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Pursuant to Rule XII-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has reviewed the above referenced resolution and
finds:
1) The Human Resources Department, with approval from the Board of Commissioners, provides a process for
departments and employees requesting a review of the salary grade placement classifications for Grades 1 —
21.
2) One (1) Director of Elections in the Clerk/Elections Division will be upgraded from a grade 16 to a grade 17 at
an annual cost of $6,302 and $1,454 for the remainder of FY 2012 in salaries and fringe benefits.
3) Eight (8) Public Health Sanitarian Technician positions in the Health and Human Services/Health Division will
be upgraded from a grade 7 to a grade 8 at an annual cost of $12,835 and $2,961 for the remainder of FY 2012
in salaries and fringe benefits.
4) The position reclassifications will be effective June 30, 2012.
5) The total annual cost of $19,136 for the position reclassifications will be incorporated in the FY 2013-FY2015
Recommendation Budget for the total annual cost of $19,136 with the Budget Process.
6) The FY 2012 Budget is amended for the General Fund positions as follows:
