IN RE: SHERIFF'S OFFICE - USE OF LAD ENHANCEMENT FUNDS FOR EQUIPMENT

Chairderson, Ladies and. Gentlemen:
WHEREAS Public Act 35 of 1.994 The Forensic Laboratory Funding Act"
authorizes courts to eoHecr an assessment to he sent to the State wno shall
then distribrte proceeds of the state forensic laboratory fund annually to a
municioality applying and said funds to be ulfillzed oward Lle enhancement of
forensic laboratory efforts related 70 the forensic science services; and
WHEREAS the srare has distributed $$920,067.13 (balance as of 1/10/12)
as a result of Sheriff's Office laboratory efforts; and
WHERES the Sheriff Is reauesting tear a portion of these funds be used.
to pay for a 3D Laser Scanner; and
WHEREAS this equipment will be used by hhe Sheriff's Office to enhance
the Forensic Laboratory in compJiance wirti rhe restrictions of Public Act;
a n d
WEEREAS the 0D Scanner has an estimaled cost of $59,690.
NOW TEEREFOPE BE IT RESOLVED coat the Oakland. County Board of
Commissioners authorizes the Lase of $09,620 from the Sheriff's Office
Forensic Laboratory Enhancement Account (16100-1030101-222410) to plc-co
the 3D Scanner.

IN RE: SHERIFF'S OFFICE — USE OF LAB ENHANCEMENT FUNDS FOR EQUIPMENT
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Pursuant to Rule XII-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has reviewed the above
referenced Miscellaneous Resolution and finds:
1. Funding in the total amount of $923,067.13 (as of 4/10/12) is available in the
Sheriff's Office Forensic Laboratory Enhancement Account (GL #222410).
2. The Sheriff has requested use of the funds in the amount of $59,620 to purchase
a 3-D Laser Scanner to use towards forensic laboratory efforts related to forensic
science services.
3. The Fiscal Year 2012 Budget is amended as follows:
