McCULLOCH, CHAIRPERSON IN RE: SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT-CONTRACT FOR CROWD/TRAFFIC CONTROL AT THE MEADOW BROOK MUSIC FESTIVAL - 1992 SEASON TO THE OAKLANn COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairpers n, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, Olympia Arenas, Inc., the operator of a summer facility on the campus o Oakland University referred to as the Meadow Brook Music Festival, has requested the Oakland County Sheriff's Department to supply Patrol Office 1 for crowd and traffic control for the upcoming 1992 season; and WHEREAS he Sheriff's Department has agreed to supply such Patrol Officers on F availability overtime hourly basis, the number of man-hours to be determ: A by the Sheriff's Department; and WHEREAS he County of Oakland shall be reimbursed for such services by Olympia Ar las, Inc. at the hourly overtime rates for the 1992 season, as was establ shed by miscellaneous Resolution #91181. NOW THEISFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approve the execution of the attached contract consistent with provisions contained therein. Allen, County Clerk REFERENCE: Oakland County Board of Commissioners Miscellaneous Resolution # 'Date: AGREEMENT THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this day of 1992 by and between the County of Oakland, a Michigan Constitutional Corporation hereinafter called "County", and OLYMPIA ARENAS, INC., hereinafter called "OAI." WHEREAS, OAI is the operator of a summer facility on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester Hills referred to as Meadow Brook Music Festival; and WHEREAS, all or certain of the performances may require traffic and crowd control within the festival grounds; and WHEREAS, OAI desires to utilize that number of deputies at various times mutually agreed upon between the Sheriff's Department and OAI; and WHEREAS, any disputes regarding staffing levels or other concerns will be resolved mutually between Meadow Brook General Manager or designee and designee for the Oakland County Sheriff's Department; and WHEREAS, OAI agrees to notify the County in advance of its requirements for deputies and pay the sum of S35.96 per hour, per deputy worked including court time, to the County, said sum to be paid monthly; and WHEREAS, the County agrees that it shall furnish deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff's Department and such equipment as shall be determined necessary for traffic and crowd control within the festival grounds during the 1992 festival season. NOW THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the mutual promises of the parties hereto, it is agreed as follows: 1. During the 1992 season at the Meadow Brook Music Festival, for each festival performance, the County shall provide Sheriff's Deputies as set date first above written. Telegraph Pontiac, Michigan 48341 Dear Tom: Per our meeting of Tuesday, May 5, please allow this letter to serve as Olympia Arenas, Incorporated's interest in utilizing the services of the Oakland County Sheriff's department for traffic and crowd control at Meadow Brook Music Festival for the 1992 summer season. . It is our intention to develop and schedule the appropriate amount of deputies with Lieutenant Doug Molinar per our Meadow Brook calendar. Such scheduling shall be determined at the earliest convenience for both parties and shall be reasonably adjusted, if necessary. All of us with Olympia Arenas appreciate the Oakland County Sheriff Department's interest in Meadow Brook and look forward to working with you and your deputies in making the 1992 season at the Music Festival safe and successful.
