HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1963.12.10 - 20311, REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 9, 1963 CO PY PRESENT: Case, Hulet, Little, Reid, Reeve, Sinclair and Swindell. ABSENT: None. Moved by Sinclair and supported by Little, as follows: WHEREAS, the 1963 constitution of the State of Michigan provides for County Home Rule, and, WHEREAS, the Township Board, of Bloomfield Township firmly believes that this provision iS of vital impor- tance to every citizen of Oakland County, and, WHEREAS, this Board favors in principle the doctrine of County Home Rule, and, WHEREAS, the Legislative Committee of the Board of Supervisors has submitted a proposed enabling statute for County Home Rule, and, WHEREAS, this action of the Legislative Committee was taken last week, and, WHEREAS, it proposes to present such statute to the Board of Supervisors at its meeting of December 10, 1963, and WHEREAS, it is the sincere belief of this Board that sufficient time for study has not elapsed for the Board of Supervisors to properly consider an Act of this im- portance to all of the people of the County of Oakland, WHEREAS, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Board of the Township of Bloomfield, that Mr. Homer Case, Supervisor, be requested to move that action on such statute by the Board of Supervisors be deferred, so that said proposed statute may be properly studied and reviewed. YEAS: Case, Hulet, Little, Reid, Reeve, Sinclair and Swindell. NAYS: None. Resolution adopted. I, Debris V.
