HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1963.06.13 - 203284173 Miscellaneous Resolution June 13, 1963 BY: Mr. Tiley IN RE: INCORPORATION OF WATERFORD TOWNSHIP AS A CITY TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: Your Boundaries Committee respectfully reports that on the 11th day of January 1963 a petition duly signed by the proper number of qualified electors and freeholders was filed with the County Clerk praying for the incorporation of a portion of Waterford Township as the City of Waterford. Your Boundaries Committee has examined the petition and found it to be sufficient as to form and substance and recommends that the question of incorporation be submitted to the electors at a special election to be held on November 5, 1963,1 WHEREFORE, MR. CHAIRMAN, I move: 1. That this Board, by adoption of this resolution, approve the form and sufficiency of the petition above described; 2. That the County Clerk be directed to take the necessary steps, pursuant to the provisions of Act 279 of the Public Acts of 1909, as amended, to submit the question of the incorporation of the following described lands in the Charter Township of Waterford, Oakland County, Michigan, as a Home Rule City to be known as the City of Waterford, to the qualified electors of the district to be affected, to-wit: All of Waterford Township T3N, R9E, Oakland County, Michigan. Also that part of West Bloomfield Township, T2N, R9F, attached to Waterford Township under Act 69, Set. 11, Public Acts of 1847 (known and described as the northeast quarter of the northeast fractional quarter, and the northwest part of the northeast fractional quarter of section three, and the northwest part of the northwest fractional quarter of section two); except the following described property: Exception #1 That part of Section 1, T3N, R9E,, Waterford Township, Oakland County, Michigan which is now a part of the Village of Lake Angelus described as follows: Beginning at a point on South line of said Section 1, that is 1788.14 feet Easterly from the Southwest corner of the Southeast 1/4 of Southwest 1/4 of Section 1 at the center line of a 16 foot easement; thence N 23° 14 40" E 50.73 feet; thence on a curve to the left radius 250.03 feet, a distance of 98.70 feet; thence N 0 ° 37' 40" E 52.86 feet; thence on a curve to the right radius 194.97 feet a distance of 134.41 feet; thence N 40° 07' 40" E 43.07 feet; thence on a curve to the left, radius 125.63 feet a distance of 70.11 feet; thence N 8 0 04" 40" E 12.00 feet; thence on a curve to the left radius 76.93 feet a distance of 74.54 feet; thence N 47 ° 26" 20" W 21.21 feet; thence on a curve to the right radius 348.58 feet a distance of 81.63 feet; thence N 34° 01' 20" W 20.70 feet; thence on a curve to the left radius of 168.68 feet a distance of 63.25 feet; thence N 55 ° 30' 20" W 62.55 feet; thence on a curve to the left radius 171.78 feet; a distance of 124.82 feet; thence S 82° 51' 20" W 110.40 feet; thence on a curve to the right radius of 246.46 feet a distance of 89.02 feet; thence N 76 ° 27' VV 78.63 feet; thence on a curve to the left a radius of 818.84 feet, a distance of 169.35 feet; thence N 88° 18' W 326.31 feet; thence on a curve to the right a radius of 1493.80 feet a distance of 160.00 feet; thence Northerly, parallel to the West line of Section 1, to the centerline of North Lake A ngelus Road; thence Northeasterly along the centerline of North Lake Angelus Road, along a curve to the right radius 1184.92 feet; thence N 39 ° 36' 00" E 1075.10 feet; thence N 22 ° 30' 00" E 174.00 feet; thence S 86 ° 30' E 219.00 feet; thence N 68 ° 20' E 827.89 feet; thence N 430 13' 50" E 32.37 feet; thence N 59° 00' 30" E 1533.93 feet to the East line of said Section 1; thence Southerly, along said East section line to the Southeast corner of said section; thence Westerly along the South line of Section 1 to the point of beginning. Exception 42 That part of Section 12, T3N, R9E, Waterford Township, Oakland County, Michigan described as follows: Beginning at a point on the Section line between Section 12 of Waterford Township and Section 7 of Pontiac Township said point being 1136.10 feet North of the West 1/4 post of Section 7; T3N, R10E, Pontiac Township, Oakland County, Michigan; said point also being the South line of "Lake Angelus Shores" being a subdivision of part of Section 7, T3N, R10E, Pontiac Township and part of the N.E. 1/4 of Section 12, TN, R9E, Waterford Township, Oakland County, Michigan and recorded in Liber 39 of Plats of page 31 in Oakland County Register's Office; thence Westerly along the South line of said "Lake Angelus Shores" Subdivision to its Southwest corner; thence Southwesterly to a point on the West side of Lake Angelus Road that is S 88 ° 21'45" W 66.00 feet and N 1 ° 38' 15" W 828.00 feet from the N.E. corner of "Waterford Lake Estates" being part of the E 1/2 of the N.W. 1/4 and part of W 1/2 of S.E. 1/4 part of W 1/2 of N.E. 1/4 and part of E 1/2 of S.W. 1/4 of Section 12, T3N, R9E, Waterford Township, Oakland County, Michigan as recorded in Liber 40 of Plats on Page 39 in the Oakland County Register's Office; thence N 66° 59' W 780.00 feet; thence S 88 ° 36' W 436.19 feet thence N 0 ° 35' 50" W 838.81 feet parallel to the N-S 1/4 line of Section 12, T3N, R9E; thence N 300 27' 50" E 595.12 feet to a point on the North line of said Section 12; thence Easterly along said Section line to the Northeast corner of Section 12, T3N, R9E, Waterford Township and the Northwest corner of Section 7, T3N, R10E, Pontiac Township; thence Southerly along Section line between said Section 12, Waterford Township and said Section 7, Pontiac Township to the point of beginning. Exception #3 That part of Section 13 and 24, T3N, R9E, Waterford Township, Oakland County, Michigan, which is now a part of the City of Pontiac, described as follows: Parcel No. 1: That part of the Southeast quarter of Section 24, T3N 7 R9E, Waterford Township, Oakland County, Michigan, which lies Easterly of Telegraph Road, being 7.25 acres more or less; and f Parcel No. 2: That part of the West 60.67 acres of the northeast quarter of Section 24, T3N, R9E, Waterford Township, Oakland County, Michigan, which lies Easterly of Telegraph Road, being 12 acres more or less; and Parcel No. 3: That part of the West half of the Southeast quarter of Section 13, T3N, R9E, Waterford Township, Oakland County, Michigan, which lies Easterly of Telegraph Road and Southerly of the Grand Trunk Railroad right-of-way being 7.50 acres more or less; and also That part of the East 100 acres of the Northeast Quarter of Section 24, T3N, R9E, Waterford Township, Oakland County, Michigan, which lies northeasterly of Telegraph Road (U.S. 24) containing 85 acres, more or less; and also Parcel No. 4: All that part of East 1/2 of Southeast 1/4 of Section 13, T3N, R9E, Waterford Township, Oakland County, Michigan, which lies southwesterly of Grand Trunk Western Railroad. Exception #4 That part of Section 36, T3N, R9E, Waterford Township, Oakland County, Michigan which is now a part of the City of Pontiac described as follows: That part of "Pioneer Highlands" a Subdivision of part of the East 1/2 of Section 36, Township of Waterford, Oakland County, Michigan and Pioneer- Telegraph Subdivision of Lots 384 to 419 incl. of Pioneer Highlands, a Subdivision of Part of East 1/2, Section 36, T3N, R9E, Village of Sylvan Lake and Waterford Township, Oakland County, Michigan lying North of the East and West 1/4 line of said Section 36. Exception #5 That part of Section 36 T3N, R9E, Waterford Township, Oakland County, Michigan, which is now a part of the City of Sylvan Lake described as follows: The East 3/4 of the South 1/2 of Section 36, T3N, R9E7 Waterford Township, Oakland County, Michigan. 3. That the date of the Special Election on the above described incorporation be held on November 5, 1963. MR.
