Hudson, former Supervisor and City Attorney of Royal Oak, Michigan, January 17, 1964. TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, it is the custom of this board to honor members who have served on the Oakland County Board of Supervisors fifteen years or more, and WHEREAS, Mr. William C. Hudson was a member of the Oakland County Board of Supervisors from April 19.31 to December 1963, a=r3-e-t-i-o-cl during which time he was Chairman of the Board of Supervisors in 1947 and participated in many - phases of County government; and WHEREAS, his record as City Attorney for the City of Royal Oak from 1925 to 1957 is an outstanding one during which period he served with out the benefit of Civil Service during many periods of political turbulence which is a tribute to his excellent character, his good judgment and his tact in dealing with people; and WHEREAS, his service as Royal Oak City Supervisor on the Oakland County Board of Supervisors from April 1931 to December 1963 should be recognized. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Oakland County Board of Supervisors, at a regular session January 17, 1964, that a Certificate of Merit be awarded to William C. Calhoun, Clerk Oakland County Board of Supervisors Pontiac, Michigan Dear Sir: Pursuant to action taken by the Welfare Committee at their meeting on December 23, 1963, this office is transmitting herewith the following resolution adopted by the Welfare Committee at that meeting: It was moved by Mr. Jackson and supported by Mr. Edward as follows: WHEREAS Mr. William C. Hudson has served long and faithfully for over 32 years as a member of the Board of Supervisors, and WHEREAS he has served in many positions of great responsibility, including Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, and WHEREAS he has served for many years as a member of this Committee, and WHEREAS after these many years of public service he has resigned from this Committee and from the Board of Supervisors, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this resolution, that this Committee express to Mr. Hudson its appreciation for his many years of devoted service to the welfare of the community in general, and to this Committee in particular, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of Committees be, and the same is hereby authorized and directed to communicate this appreciation to Mr. Hudson by a suitable document and to communicate this resolution to the Board of Supervisors.
