Dbrbin /7 Alward j--` BY: Mr. Hall IN RE: MEMORIAL DAY AND INDEPENDENCE DAY TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS Memorial Day, May 30, and Independence Day, July 4 both fall on Saturday this year, and WHEREAS the County's policy as to Holidays falling on weekends makes the following Monday the official holiday for holidays falling on Sunday, but makes no official substitution for holidays falling on Saturday, and WHEREAS the State and Federal Governments are considering Friday, May 29, and Friday, July 3, as official holidays this year and other municipal governments are also granting an alternate day off, now THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the County of Oakland close as many of its' offices as practical on the above mentioned Fridays and that the County's regular employees be granted these Fridays off with pay instead of the actual holidays, and that County employees who are required to work the days in question be granted equal time off with pay at a time convenient to the departments and institutions involved. MR. CHAIRMAN, on behalf of the Salaries Committee, I move the adoption of the foregoing resolution. SALARIES COMMITTEE IL #4308 Moved by Hall supported by Hudson the resolution be adopted. A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the resolution was adopted.
