IN RE: MEMORIAL FOR RANSFORD H. BROMLEY
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
On April 6, 1964, Ransford H. Bromley, former Addison Township Supervisor
and member of this Board, passed away at his home in Lakeville at the age of 66.
He was Supervisor of Addison Township for four (4) terms from 1948 to 1955,
was also past assistant director of the Oakland County Civil Defense Department, a
former member of the Oakland County Board of Education, past president of the
Oakland Hunt Club and one of the organizers of the Addison Township Fire Department.
He was a member of V.F.W. Post #436 and a member of the Polar Bear Club,
an association of members of the American Expeditionary Forces placed in Siberia
during World War I, and a former member of the Oxford Rotary Club.
He was also a business man, owning and operating a motel and grocery store in
Lakeville, Oakland County.
Surviving are his wife, Mabel, two sons, Roy and Raymond, both of Lakeville;
two sisters, Mrs. Edna Lyon of Southfield and Mrs. Lillian Garner of Illinois; and two
grandchildren.
His passing is a loss to his immediate family and his many friends, and a loss to
his town and community.
MR. CHAIRMAN, I move that the foregoing memorial be spread upon the minutes
of this meeting of the Board of Supervisors and that the County Clerk be instructed to
forward a certified copy thereof to his surviving wife with the Seal of the County of
Oakland affixed thereto.
