MARGARET ANN DAWSON TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: Mrs. Margaret Ann Dawson, a former member of this Board, passed away on July 25, 1964, at the William Beaumont Hospital. She resided at 260 East Cambourne in the City of Ferndale. Mrs. Dawson was one of the first women to serve on the Oakland County Board of Supervisors, being appointed by the Ferndale City Commission in 1933 and serving to 1938. She had served as a trustee of the Oakland County Tuberculosis Sanatorium from January 1931 to April 1933 and was a member of various other committees of the Board of Supervisors. Mrs. Dawson was a member of the Ferndale Library Board from October 1931 to April 1933 and was a past vice-president of the Oakland County Council of Women. Mrs. Dawson was a president of the Oakland County Federation of Women's Clubs from 1930 to 1932 and president of Ferndale Women's Club from 1929 to 1930. She was an estimable citizen and a long-time devoted public servant dedicated to the civic good of her community. Her passing will be deeply mourned by all who were privileged to know her. Surviving are her husband, Orlie W. Dawson, and two sisters. MR. CHAIRMAN, I move that the foregoing memorial be spread upon the minutes of the Board of Supervisors and that the County Clerk be instructed to forward a certified copy thereof to her surviving husband, Orlie.
