IN RE: SHERIFF'S OFFICE — USE OF FORFEITED FUNDS FOR EQUIPMENT
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Pursuant to Rule XII-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has reviewed the above referenced
resolution and finds:
1. Funds in the amount of $457,151.65 (balance as of 6/30/12) are available in the Sheriff's Office
Law Enforcement Enhancement Account (#4030101-222430).
2. The Sheriff requests use of these funds to enhance drug law enforcement per MCL 333.7524 of
Public Act 368 of 1978 per the Michigan Public Health Code.
3. The Sheriff is requesting the use of these funds in the amount of $256,357 (per the attached list)
to purchase Tasers, SWAT uniforms and equipment, microphones for in car video camera, patrol
dispatching software, and contracted services for IT Specialist to do crime mapping/intelligence.
4. The Fiscal Year 2012 budget is amended as follows:
