Telegraph Pontiac, MI 48341 RE: Pathway Millage Approved 11/07/95 Dear Jan: The electorate of the City of Rochester Hills at the City's General Election held on Tuesday, November 7, 1995 approved the following language concerning pathway millage: Shall the City of Rochester Hills levy a new tax of up to two-tenths (.2) mill to establish, construct, maintain and repair pathways and surfaces to be used by bicycles, non-motorized vehicles and pedestrians along main arterial roads in the city, the tax to be for a period of ten (10) years 1996 through 2005 inclusive, on the taxable value of all property assessed for taxes in the City, the tax authorized under Section 4.2.7 of the City Charter? Section 7.4 TERM OF OFFICE The term of office of Council Members shall BE FOUR (4) YEARS COMMENCING on the second Monday next following the date of the regular City election at which they were elected. AT EACH REGULAR CITY ELECTION TWO (2) DISTRICT POSITIONS SHALL BE ELECTED. TWO (2) AT-LARGE POSITIONS SHALL BE ELECTED AT A REGULAR CITY ELECTION AND THE OTHER AT-LARGE POSITION SHALL BE ELECTED AT THE NEXT REGULAR CITY ELECTION. Humanl'lleourcos 2. Section 7.9 TERM LIMITATION, CITY COUNCIL Purchasing 856-4708 CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS SHALL BE PROHIBITED FROM SEEKING RE- ELECTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL AFTER HAVING SERVED TWO FULL CONSECUTIVE TERMS AS A MEMBER OF CITY COUNCIL OR HAVING BEEN ELECTED TWICE TO THAT PARTICULAR OFFICE IN CONSECUTIVE CITY ELECTIONS. THIS LIMITATION SHALL NOT PROHIBIT ELECTION AND SERVING ON THE CITY COUNCIL AS A WRITE-IN CANDIDATE AT ANY TIME OR FROM SEEKING ELECTION AFTER AN INTERVAL OF ONE TERM OF NOT SERVING ON THE CITY COUNCIL. The Mayor shall be a registered elector and a resident of the City for at least one year immediately prior to the final date for filing nominating petitions.
