McPherson - County Commissioner, District #9 RE: (SUPPORT) Extending Delinquent Tax Period from Three to Four Years TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, the nation's economy has been at a low ebb for several months and prospects for improvements in the immediate future are not encouraging; and WHEREAS, Michigan is one of the hardest hit states in the current recession; and WHEREAS, one method of stimulating the economy would be to free up more spending potential by extending the delinquent tax deadline from three to four years. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners supports extending the delinquent tax deadline by one year and requests the introduction of legislation to accomplish this objective. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be sent to all Legislators from Oakland County and to the County's Legislative Agent. Mr. Chairperson, I move the adoption of the foregoing resolution. Ruel E.
