Flo mes John L, Carey Ficiffy /4 ton lir REPORT 3627 April 12, 1960 BY Mr. Levinson IN RE: LEGISLATION TO SET ONE MILL CEILING ON WELFARE EXPENDITURES TO: THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: At the meeting of the Board on January 18, 1960, the matter of legislation setting a ceiling of one mill on the County's share of welfare costs was referred back to the Ways and Means Committee for study and report. Since that date your Committee has discussed the matter at two meetings and made a study of House Bill 104 which was proposed by Wayne County as an amendment to Act 280 of the Public Acts of 1939 to set a ceiling of one mill of State equalized value on the County's portion of relief costs. This bill died in the Committee of the House of Representatives. Since the Legislature did not bill look with favor on this /your Ways and Means Committee took no action with respect to this legislation. MR.
