IN RE: APPROPRIATION FOR COUNTY LOCAL ROADS
TO: THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies arid GenHemen:
April 12, 1960
At the meeting of the Board of Supervisors on January 18, 1960, the matter
/surplus
of an appropriation of $100,000 from/1959 County non-tax funds was referred to your
Ways and Means Committee for further consideration and for a public hearing.
Such a hearing was held on February 3, 1960, when all interested parties were
given an opportunity to he heard in relation to the proposed appropriation. A resolution
was adopted by the Ways and Means Committee on March 16, 1960, recommending to the
Board that the sum of $100,000 be appropriated from thell 959 non-tax funds for the County
local road system, such monies to be used for the purposes set forth in the schedule of
projects filed by the County Road Commission as well as for other emergency purposes as
may be determined by the County Road Commission. In making this recommendation the
Ways and Means Committee intended to have the County make up the failure to appropriate
$50,000 in the year 1959 as well as a $50,000 appropriation for 1960 to the County Road
Commission in order to be consistent with annual appropriations of $50,000 made to the Road
Commission in years prior to 1959,
Since one of the projects listed on the schedule filed by the County Road Commission
with the County Clerk, namely, LaMothe Street in Waterford Township, is not a County local
road but rather a subdivision street, your Ways and Means Committee recommends that this
portion of the program proposed by the Road Commission be deleted if the appropriation as
recommended is approved by the Board.
MR, CHAIRMAN, I present the following resolution:

BE IT RESOLVED that the sum of $100,000 be appropriated from/1959 County
non-tax funds to carry out the program as proposed by the Board of County Road
Commissioners of Oakland County and filed with the County Clerk in 1959 of
replacing inadequate drainage structures on the County local road system, and other
emergency purposes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors approves the various
protects as listed on the resolution of the Board of County Road Commissioners as adopted
April 7, 1958, copy of which is attached to this resolution, except that LaMothe Street
in Waterford Township is hereby deleted.
MR. CHAIRMAN, on behalf of the Ways and Means Committee, I move the
adoption of the foregoing resolution and request a roll call vote thereon.
