HomeMy WebLinkAboutElection Canvasses - 1990.08.07 - 2149REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF CANVAS SERS 90 SEP 14 A8 :34 CITY OF SOUTHFIELD COUNTY OF OAKLAND, MICHIGAN August 9, 1990 EFUTY Cfis n A Regular Meeting of the Board of Canvassers convened at 8:00 p.m. on August 9, 1990 at the City Hall, 26000 Evergreen Road, Southfield, Michigan, to canvas the results of the State Primary Election held August 7, 1990. PRESENT: Webb, Holzman, Bodnar ABSENT: Grosthwaite A resolution was offered by Holzman and supported by Bodnar that Webb Meeting of the Board of Canvassers. Motion was adopted. WHEREAS, at the Primary Election duly called and held in the City of Southfield, County of Oakland, pursuant to the provisions of Act 239, Public Acts of 1970, as amended on September 15, ,1981, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., Eastern Daylight Saving Time, the Charter Amendment (Proposal A) was presented on the ballot at said Primary Election; and WHEREAS, the votes cast at said election have been filed in the office of the City Clerk and have been presented and examined by the Board of Canvassers; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Canvassers hereby determines that the votes cast for Proposal A at the said Primary Election held on August 7, 1990, were as follows: he elected Chairman of the Proposal A Yes No 3,467 6,108 A motion was made and seco meeting was adjourned at 9 p-nit" for adjournment, and the BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Canvassers determines that the following Charter Amendment was defeated: CITY OF SOUTHFIELD - PROPOSAL Shall the Charter of the City of Southfield be amended to provide that the amount which the city may raise by general tax upon the assessed value of taxable property in the city be increased by three-tenths of one percent (three [3] mills) to be used for general city operations?
