IN RE: BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS — 2015 PARKS AND RECREATION PROPERTY TAX LEVY
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS the Board of Commissioners has the authority to levy 0.2410 mills tax to support the Oakland
County Parks and Recreation Commission activities; and
WHEREAS this levy was approved by the Oakland County voters on August 3, 2010 and as modified
consistent with Michigan Law (MCL 211.34D(26)), the "Headlee Amendment"; and
WHEREAS the 0.2410 mills is the maximum allowable tax rate after applying the "Headlee" rnillage reduction
fraction of 0.9983 to the original millage rate of 0.2415; and
WHEREAS the 0.2410 mills is estimated to generate $12,484,564 to support Oakland County Parks and
Recreation Commission activities.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that each Supervisor of the various townships and Assessing
Officers of the several cities of Oakland County are authorized and directed to spread on their respective
township or city tax rolls for the year 2015 December Levy, a tax rate of 0.2410 mills for Oakland County
Parks and Recreation activities, to be applied to the 2015 Taxable Value of all property located within
their respective jurisdictions.
Chairperson, on behalf of the Finance Committee, I move the adoption of the foregoing resolution.
