CHARTER AMENDMENT PROPOSAL NO. 1

Walled Lake City Charter Section 8.3 states Council shall approve a budget, appropriations IIIIIIIII
and a levy for the next fiscal year by the third Monday in May each year. The county
distributes property tax information in late March that the City uses to prepare budget, 1111111 II
appropriation and levy amounts. This amendment creates additional time to finalize the
budget by changing the date in Section 8.3 to the second Monday in June each year.

CHARTER AMENDMENT PROPOSAL NO. 3
Walled Lake City Charter Section 7.4 states punishment for a local ordinance violation shall
not exceed ninety days in jail and/or a five hundred dollar fine. State law allows greater
maximum penalties for violations of certain local ordinances. This amendment to Section
7.4 states that penalties for local ordinance violations shall not exceed the maximum penalty
allowable under state law in the event state law allows a greater penalty for a particular
offense.
