MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION #17342 December 7, 2017 BY: Commissioner Bill Dwyer, Chairperson, Public Services Com m i t t e e IN RE: SHERIFF'S OFFICE-CONTRACT AMENDMENT # 2 F O R L A W E N F O R C E M E N T S E R V I C E S I N THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF ORION 2017-2018 To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS the Charter Township of Orion has contracted with t h e O a k l a n d C o u n t y S h e r i f f ' s O f f i c e t o provide law enforcement services for the Township (MR. #16 3 4 4 ) ; a n d WHEREAS paragraph 29 of this Contract provided that an amen d m e n t t o t h i s C o n t r a c t m u s t b e a p p r o v e d by a resolution of the Oakland County Board of Commissione r s a n d t h e C h a r t e r T o w n s h i p o f O r i o n ; a n d WHEREAS the Charter Township of Orion has approved a pro p o s e d a m e n d m e n t t o t h e C o n t r a c t a d d i n g one (1) Technical Assistant position and one (1) Deputy 11 (n o - f i l l ) p o s i t i o n b e g i n n i n g o n J a n u a r y 1 , 2 0 1 8 and continuing until the current contract expires or is terminated; a n d WHEREAS the Sheriff has agreed to the provisions of Amendmen t # 2 f o r t h e C h a r t e r T o w n s h i p o f O r i o n under the terms of this Contract. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County B o a r d o f C o m m i s s i o n e r s a p p r o v e s a n d authorizes its Chairperson to sign Amendment #2 to the origina l O a k l a n d C o u n t y S h e r i f f ' s O f f i c e 2 0 1 7 - 2018 Law Enforcement Services Agreement with the Charter Town s h i p o f O r i o n t o a d d o n e ( 1 ) T e c h n i c a l Assistant position and one (1) Deputy II (no-fill) position beginn i n g o n J a n u a r y 1 , 2 0 1 8 a n d c o n t i n u i n g u n t i l the Oakland County Sheriffs Office 2017 - 2018 Law Enforcemen t S e r v i c e s A g r e e m e n t w i t h t h e C h a r t e r Township of Orion expires or is terminated.
