IN RE: SHERIFF'S OFFICE - CONTRACT AMENDMENT #1 FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES IN
ADDISON TOWNSHIP 2017-2018
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS Addison Township has contracted with the Oakland County Sheriff's Office to provide law
enforcement services for the Township (M.R. #16337); and
WHEREAS paragraph 29 of this Contract provided that an amendment to this Contract must be approved
by a resolution of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners and the Addison Township Board; and
WHEREAS Addison Township has approved a proposed amendment to the Contract changing two (2)
Deputy ll (no-fill) positions to two (2) Deputy II (w/fill) positions beginning on March 31, 2018 and
continuing until the current contract expires or is terminated; and
WHEREAS the Sheriff has agreed to the provisions of Amendment #1 for Addison Township under the
terms of this Contract.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approves and
authorizes its Chairperson to sign Amendment #1 to the original Oakland County Sheriff's Office 2017-
2018 Law Enforcement Services Agreement with Addison Township to change two (2) Deputy II (no-fill)
positions to two (2) Deputy ll (w/fill) positions beginning on March 31, 2018 and continuing until the
Oakland County Sheriff's Office 2017-2018 Law Enforcement Services Agreement with the Addison
Township expires or is terminated.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the future level of service, including the continuation of position(s), is
contingent upon the level of funding associated with this Contract.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this amendment will take effect March 31, 2018.

2017/2018 LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
ADDISON TOWNSHIP
Amendment I
Pursuant to Paragraph 29 of the 2017/2018 Law Enforcement Services Agreement
between the COUNTY and the ADDISON TOWNSHIP (the "Contract"), the parties hereby agree
to amend said Contract to change two (2) Deputy II (no-fill) to two (2) Deputy II (w/fill-in) in
accordance with the attached Exhibit 1 (Schedule A) beginning on the effective date of this
Amendment 1. The attached Exhibit 1 replaces and supersedes the Schedule A attached to the
Contract beginning on the effective date of this Amendment 1.
This Amendment 1 shall take effect on March 31, 2018 and shall continue until the
Contract expires or is terminated. All other provisions in the Contract not otherwise affected by
the attached Exhibit 1 remain in full force and effect.
FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual assurances, promises,
acknowledgments, set forth in this Amendment 1 and for other good and valuable consideration,
the receipt and adequacy of which is hereby acknowledged, the undersigned hereby execute
this Amendment 1 on behalf of the Parties, and by doing so legally obligate and bind the Parties
to the terms and conditions of this Amendment 1.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, Bruce Pearson, Supervisor of the Addison Township, hereby
acknowledges that he has been authorized by a resolution of the Municipality's governing body
to execute this Amendment 1 on behalf of the Municipality and hereby accepts and binds the
Municipality to the terms and conditions of this Amendment 1.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, Michael J. Gingell, Chairperson, Oakland County Board of
Commissioners hereby acknowledges that he has been authorized by a resolution of the

County, and hereby accepts and binds Oakland County to the terms and conditions of this
Amendment 1.

NOTE: For each "Deputy II (w/file" identified above, the 0.C.S.O. will, at no additional cost to the
Municipality, provide a substitute Sheriff's Deputy (i.e., a "fill-in") to provide Law Enforcement Services
to the Municipality whenever a contracted "Deputy II (w/fill)" is absent from the Municipality during any
80 hour biweekly period for any reason except those reasons enumerated in Paragraph 6.1 above.
NOTE: The 0.C.S.O. will not assign any trainees to perform the duties of any Sheriff's Deputy contracted
for and assigned to perform Law Enforcement Services under this Agreement.

Pursuant to Rule XII-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has reviewed the above referenced resolution
and finds:
1. Resolution authorizes Amendment #1 to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office law enforcement
contract with Addison Township to provide law enforcement services to this community.
2. Addison Township is requesting to change two (2) Deputy II (no-fill) positions to two (2) Deputy II
(with fill) positions.
3. The amendment is effective March 31, 2018.
4. The Fiscal Year 2018-2020 budgets are amended as follows:
