The County Executive neither approved or vetoed the resolution. On October 13, 1994, the Board of Commissioners reconsidered the resolution, by including a Personnel Committee Report and a Fiscal Note. The report, which recommended an amendment, was accepted; the resolution was amended to coincide with the Personnel Committee recommendation, and the resolution was adopted, as amended. REPORT (Misc. #94278) BY: Personnel Committee - Marilynn Gosling, Chairperson TO: The Oakland County Board of Commissioners IN RE: MR 94278-SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT - CONTRACT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES IN INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: The Personnel Committee, having reviewed the above referenced resolution on October 5, 1994, reports with the recommendation that the resolution be adopted with the addition of the following paragraph for clarification purposes: "BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that position #43618-05574 be designated as the Deputy II position to be deleted in the Contracted Patrol Unit, Protective Services Division of the Sheriff's Department. Chairperson, on behalf of the Personnel Committee, I move the adoption of the foregoing report. PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION # 94278 September 22, 1994 BY: PUBLIC SERVICE COMMITTEE, LAWRENCE A. OBRECHT, CHAIRPERSON IN RE: SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT - CONTRACT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES IN INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, Independence Township has contracted with the Oakland County Sheriff's Department to provide law enforcement services for the Township (Miscellaneous Resolution #93299, December 9, 1993); and WHEREAS, Paragraph 16 of this Contract provided that an amendment to this Contract must be approved by concurrent resolutions of both the Oakland County Board of Commissioners and the Independence Township Board; and WHEREAS, Independence Township has requested and approved a proposed amendment to SCHEDULE A - SHERIFF'S DEPUTY(IES) CONTRACTED to the Contract which would delete ONE (1) PATROL DEPUTY II (No FILL-IN), being contracted; and WHEREAS, the Sheriff has agreed to delete ONE (1) PATROL DEPUTY II (NO FILL-IN) for Independence Township under the terms of the Contract. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approve an amendment to the original SCHEDULE A - SHERIFF'S DEPUTY(IES) CONTRACTED of the OAKLAND COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT 199411995 LAW ENFORCEMENT AGREEMENT WITH INEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP to decrease the number of PATROL DEPUTY(IES) II (NO FILL-IN) from the original Thirteen (13), to a new total of Twelve (12) PATROL DEPUTY(IES) II (NO FILL-IN) as shown in the attached SCHEDULE A - SHERIFF'S DEPUTY(IES) CONTRACTED (AMENDED September 1994) BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this amendment will take effect on September 2, 1994. McCULLOCH, CHAIRPERSON IN RE: SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT - CONTRACT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES IN INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP - MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION #94XXX TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: Pursuant to Rule XI-G of this Board, the Finance Committee has reviewed Miscellaneous Resolution #94278 and finds: 1. Independence Township has requested the deletion of one (1) Deputy II(no fill-in) from their 1994/1995 contract for Law Enforcement Services with the Sheriff Department effective September 1, 1994. 2. This deletion will decrease the number of officers contracted with Independence to 18; total number of officers obligated through the Law Enforcement Services contracts decreases to 138. 3. This change will cause a reduction in budgeted revenues and expenditures for the balance of 1994 equaling $23,897, the effect on 1995 equals reduced budgeted revenues and expenditures of $74,869. 4.
