IN RE: Circuit Court - Use of Mediation Funds for Equipment and Furniture
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS by Miscellaneous Resolution #90177, the Board of Commissioners
established the Circuit Court Mediation Fund:, and
WHEREAS the fund is to be used to help pay for Circuit Court enhancements
and improvements as requested by the Circuit Court and approved by the Board of
Commissioners; and
WHEREAS the Court seeks to utilize the Mediation Fund to purchase the
following:
Furniture (Mediation rooms and waiting room)
Furniture (Replace and reupholster)
Judicial Conference Room Equipment
Court Business Intern
FOC Job Placement Intern
Research Attorneys Furniture
Bench/Bar Conference
Reserve Account/Mediators
GRAND TOTAL

WHEREAS the cost of the above enumerated items is estimated to total
$88,550.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
approves the use of $88,550 from the Circuit Court Civil Mediation Fund for the
above listed items.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that information on any additional use of the
Reserve Account/Mediators be brought back to the Public Services Committee.

adoption of the foregoing resolution.

IN RE: Circuit Court - Use of Mediation Funds for Equipment and Furniture
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners - Miscellaneous Resolution 495110
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Pursuant to Rule XII-G of this Board, the Finance and Personnel
Committee has reviewed Miscellaneous Resolution #95110 and finds:
1. The Circuit Court has requested using $88,550 from the Circuit
Court Civil Mediation Fund for furniture, equipment and the
funding of two (2) interns through the County's intern program.
M.R. #90177 provides that after payment of the attorney mediators,
the balance of the fund will be used for the Circuit Court for
enhancements and improvements.
3. Use of the fund is handled in the manner similar to that
established for funds forfeited through narcotic seizures; as
specifically requested by the Circuit Court and approved by the
Board of Commissioners.
4. The fund currently has a balance of $724,802 of which a minimum of
$202,840 must be used to cover the 1995 mediator liability to date
to the General Fund.
5. The following amendments be made to the Circuit Court's 1995
Budget utilizing funds from the Civil Mediation Account (1-10100-
201-011):
