HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1996.02.01 - 247244 MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION #96005 February 1, 1996 BY: FINANCE AND PERSONNEL COMMITTEE, SUE ANN DOUGLAS, CHAIRPERSON IN RE: PROSECUTING ATTORNEY - 1996 AUTOMOBILE THEFT PREVENTION GRANT ACCEPTANCE TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Chairperson, LadieS and Gentlemen: WHEREAS the Prosecuting Attorney's Office applied for funding for the tenth year to the Automobile Theft Prevention Authority (ATPA) grant for January 1, 1996 through December 31, 1996 in the amount of $202,303 (State (75t) - $151,727; County (25%) - $50,576); and WHEREAS Miscellaneous Resolution 493020 (Amendment to the Grant Procedure)requires the Finance and Personnel Committee to review grant acceptances that vary less than fifteen (1510 percent from the grant application; and WHEREAS the grant award is for $184,627 (State - $130,470; County match $46,157), which is a 8.74% variance from the application as shown in Schedule A; and WHEREAS funds for the county match are available in the Prosecuting Attorney's Grant Match line-item (44-10100-411-01-09-3380), no additional appropriation is required; and WHEREAS the previous grant funded one (1) Assistant Prosecuting Attorney IV and one (1) Assistant Prosecuting Attorney III and the present grant award continues to provide funding for the said positions; and WHEREAS the contract has been approved by the County Executive's Contract Review Process; and WHEREAS acceptance of this agreement does not obligate the County to any future commitment. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners accepts the Prosecuting Attorney's 1996 Automobile Theft Prevention Authority Grant in the amount of $184,627 (State - $130,470; County match - $46,157), BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 1996 Adopted Budget is amended to include acceptance of the new grant award as detailed in Schedule B. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that future level of service, including personnel, will be contingent upon the level of funding available from the State for this program . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners is authorized to execute the grant agreement and to approve amendments or extensions up to fifteen (15%)percent variance from the award, consistent with the agreement as originally approved.
