DISASTER RECOVERY PLAN
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
The Finance and Personnel Committee, having reviewed the above
referenced resolution, recommends the following amendment:
"On the third 'WHEREAS' paragraph, change the total dollar amount from
'$490,170' to `$49,170'"

IN RE: DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY - PURCHASE OF SERVICES TO DEVELOP
DISASTER RECOVERY PLAN
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS the Performance Evaluation and Operations Audit (PEOA) cites a
recommendation for implementation of a Disaster Recovery Plan to ensure continued
Information Technology operations in the event of a disaster; and
WHEREAS the Department of Information Technology has identified Dataguard
Recovery Services of Louisville, Kentucky as a result of the issuance of a request
for proposal and evaluation of submitted proposals; and
WHEREAS the estimated cost to develop the Disaster Recovery Plan is a total
of $490,170; and
WHEREAS there are available funds in the Information Technology Fund to cover
the cost of the Disaster Recovery Plan.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
authorizes the Department of Information Technology to acquire a Professional
Services Contract for the purposes of developing a Disaster Recovery Plan.
Chairperson, on behalf of the Strategic Planning Committee, I move the
adoption of the foregoing resolution.

DISASTER RECOVERY PLAN
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Pursuant to Rule XII-F of this Board, the Finance and Personnel
Committee has reviewed the above-referenced resolution and finds:
1. As a result of a formal proposal and evaluation process, the
Department of Information Technology is recommending that the
County enter into a Professional Services Contract to develop a
Disaster Recovery Plan for all data processing activities.
2. The estimated cost of the proposed contract is $49,170.
3. There are sufficient funds available in the Information Technology
Fund (Account # 4-63600-181-01-00-3128) to cover the cost of said
contract, therefore no additional appropriation is necessary.
