Obrecht, District #3, and Jeff Kingzett, District #7 )NV )DL.-./440 FEM Or)r IN RE: Return of the Millage Reduction and Stabilization Fund Balance to the Citizens of Oakland County To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Commissioners, by Miscellaneous Resolution #95265, created the Millage Reduction and Stabilization Fund on December 7, 1995, and; WHEREAS it was the intent of the Board of Commissioners to use any funds collected in that fund for the sole purpose of reducing the millage assessments in Oakland County, and; WHEREAS the false impression has been given that this fund's monies could be used for other needs, and; WHEREAS it is the desire of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners to ensure that this fund is used only for the purpose originally intended, and; WHEREAS a one-time millage credit of .12 mills would return to the citizens of Oakland County the entire $4,375,000.00 contained in the Millage Reduction and Stabilization Fund, and; WHEREAS it is expressly understood that this return of funds to the citizens of Oakland County will affect the millage rate for the December 1997 tax bill only. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners does hereby approve and authorize the appropriate millage reduction, for the December 1997 tax bill only, necessary to accomplish the return of the entire balance of the Millage Reduction and Stabilization Fund.
