Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
The Personnel Committee, having reviewed the above referenced resolution on
December 2, 1998, recommends that the resolution be adopted.
Chairperson, on behalf of the Personnel Committee, I move the acceptance of the
foregoing Report.

MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION #98295

IN RE: Sheriff's Department-Contract Amendment for Law Enforcement Services in
the Charter Township of Oakland 1999-2003
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS Oakland Township has contracted with the Oakland County
Sheriff's Department to provide law enforcement services for the Township
(M.R.#98011); and
WHEREAS paragraph 23 of this contract provides that an amendment to this
contract must be approved by concurrent resolutions of both the Oakland County
Board of Commissioners and the Oakiand Township Board; and
WHEREAS Oakland Township has approved a proposed amendment to the
contract (Schedule A-Sheriff's Deputies Contracted) which would add one (1)
Deputy II (no-fill) resulting in one (1) Deputy II (no-fill) being contracted
and bring the total number of contracted deputies to seven (7); and
WHEREAS the Sheriff has agreed to add one (2) Deputy II (no-fill) for
Oakland Township under the terms of this contract.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners approves an amendment to the original Schedule A (Sheriff
Deputies Contracted) of the Oakland County Sheriff's Department 1999-2003 Law
Enforcement Services Agreement with the Charter Township of Oakland to add a
Deputy II (no-fill).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that one (1) Deputy II position be created in the
Contracted Patrol Unit, Protective Services Division of the Sheriff's
Department.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this amendment wil: tae effect on January
2, 1999.

NOTE: For each PATROL DEPUTY Il (WITH FILL-IN) identified above, ONLY the 0.C.S.D. shall, at no
additional cost to the MUNICIPALITY, provide a substitute (i.e., FILL-IN) SHERIFF'S DEPUTY to provide
LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES to the MUNICIPALITY whenever a PATROL DEPUTY II (WITH FILL-
IN) is absent from the MUNICIPALITY during any 80 hour bi-weekly period for any reason except those
reasons enumerated in Paragraph 5(a)(1) through Paragraph 5(a)(5) above.
NOTE: No Trainees shall be assigned by the 0.C.S.D. to perform the duties of any SHERIFF'S DEPUTY
contracted for and assigned to perform LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES under the terms of this
Agreement.

IN RE: SHERIFF DEPARTMENT - CONTRACT AMENDMENT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES IN
THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF OAKLAND 1999 - 2003
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Pursuant to Rule XII-F of this Board, the Finance Committee has reviewed the
above referenced resolution and finds:
1. The Charter Township of Oakland has requested an amendment to their Law
Enforcement Services Contract with the Sheriff, effective January 2, 1999,
by adding one (1) Deputy II (no-fill) position.
2. This amendment will increase the number of officers contracted to Oakland
Township to a total of seven (7).
3. The new position will require the creation of one (1) Deputy II position in
the Contracted Patrol Unit, Protective Services Division of the Sheriff's
Department.
4. This change will cause an increase in budgeted revenue and expenditures of
$60,214 for FY 1999 and $82,573 for FY 2000.
5. The FY 1999 and FY 2000 budgets should be amended per the attached worksheet.
