Law, Chairperson IN RE: PERSONNEL DEPARTMENT - LABOR AGREEMENT CONTRACT EXTENSION FOR EMPLOYEES REPRESENTED BY THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (PROBATE COURT) To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS a labor agreement covering approximately 143 Probate Court employees has been negotiated with the Ameit.can Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME); and WHEREAS an agreement has been reached to extend the labor agreement currently in effect through September 30, 1999, and said agreement has been reduced to writing; and WHEREAS the agreement is based on a "me too" with the general non- represented employees for fiscal year 1999 wages and benefits. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the proposed agreement between the Oakland County Probate Court, the County of Oakland, and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal employees, covering the period of January 1, 1999 through September 30, 1999, is approved and that the Board Chairperson, on behalf of the County of Oakland, is authorized to execute said agreement as attached. PERSONNEL COMMITTEE Personnel Committee Vote Motion carried on unanimous roll call vote with Holbert absent MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT This Agreement entered into this day of , 1998, between the Oakland County Probate Court, the County of Oakland, and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) as follows: The parties agree that the collective bargaining agreement in effect for 1998 shall be extended through September 30, 1999, with a 3% salary increase for fiscal year 1999 effective September 26, 1998. It is further agreed that the mileage reimbursement rate will be increased to $.325 effective September 26, 1998. The parties agree that any fringe benefit modifications applied to the general non- represented employees during fiscal year 1999, shall be applied to the employees represented by this bargaining unit at the same time and in the same manner as applied to the general non- represented group. Brooks Patterson, County Executive FISCAL NOTE (Misc. #98286) November 19, 1998 BY: FINANCE COMMITTEE, SUE ANN DOUGLAS, CHAIRPERSON IN RE: PERSONNEL DEPARTMENT - LABOR AGREEMENT CONTRACT EXTENSION FOR EMPLOYEES REPRESENTED BY THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (PROBATE COURT) TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: Pursuant to Rule XII-F of this Board, the Finance Committee has reviewed the above referenced resolution and finds: 1. The parties have agreed to extend the provisions of the 1996-1998 collective bargaining agreement through September 30, 1999. 2. All classifications represented by the bargaining unit will receive a 3% wage increase effective September 26, 1998. 3. All employee benefit modifications implemented on a County wide basis for non-represented employees during FY 1999 will be applied to bargaining unit employees. 4. Effective September 26, 1998 mileage reimbursement will increase to $.325 for all employees represented by the bargaining unit. 5. No additional appropriation to the FY 1999 budget is required.
