Jacobs, Commissioner District #23 IN RE: (Support) HB5903, Increase Court Transcript Fees To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS HB 5903, currently before the House Judiciary Committee, seeks to amend the Revised Judicature Act by increasing the fee paid to circuit court reporters or recorders for court transcripts, and WHEREAS HE 5903 would raise the fee for the original page from $1.75 to $3.00 and subsequent pages from $.30 to $.50 per page, and WHEREAS, it has been 12 years since the current page rate for transcripts was established. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners does support the passage of HE 5903, and directs the County Clerk to send certified copies of this resolution to all of Oakland County's state legislators and legislative agents. Profit and referred to the Committee on Judiciary. A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled "Revised judicature act of 1961," by amending section 2543 (MCL 600.2543), as amended by 1986 PA 308. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 2543. (1) The circuit court reporters or recorders 2 shall be entitled to demand and receive per page for a transcript 3 ordered by any person the sum of $1.75 $3.00 per original page 4 and -ae- 50 cents per page for each copy, unless a lower rate is 5 agreed upon.
