HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1998.10.28 - 2551813' / ztf MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION #98279 BY: Commissioner Ruth Johnson; District #1 IN RE: PUBLIC HEARINGS REQUIRED TO INCREASE OR ADD NEW FEES IN OAKLAND COUNTY To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Chairperson, Ladies, and Gentlemen: WHEREAS higher fees adversely affect economic opportunities for residents and businesses in Oakland County; and WHEREAS Oakland County should actively pursue policies to discourage increases in fees and the addition of new fees; and WHEREAS the addition of fees and increasing fees should only be done when the public has an opportunity to voice their opinion. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that all increases in fees charged by Oakland County, shall be considered during the budget process or after a public hearing, and shall be enacted only after the affirmative recommendation of the standing liaison committee, following the passage by the full Board, all increases in fees, or new fees, which would generate $50,000 per year of new revenue.
