IN THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF OXFORD 1999-2003

Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
The Personnel Committee having reviewed the above-mentioned resolution on December 6, 2000,
recommends to the Oakland County Board of Commissioners the resolution be adopted.
Chairperson, on behalf of the Personnel Committee, I move the acceptance of the foregoing report.

MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION 400309 November 30, 2000

IN RE: Sheriff's Department-Contract Amendment for Law Enforcement Services
in the Charter Township of Oxford 1999-2003
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS Oxford Township has contracted with the Oakland County
Sheriff's Department to provide law enforcement services for the Township
(M.R.#00001); and
WHEREAS paragraph 23 of this contract provides that an amendment to
this contract must be approved by concurrent resolutions of both the Oakland
County Board of Commissioners and the Oxford Township Board; and
WHEREAS Oxford Township has approved a proposed amendment to the
contract (Schedule A-Sheriff's Deputies Contracted) which would add one (1)
Deputy II (Patrol Investigator) resulting in a new total of two (2) Deputy II
(Patrol Investigators) being contracted and bring the total number of
contracted deputies to twelve (12); and
WHEREAS the Sheriff has agreed to add one (1) Deputy II (Patrol
Investigator)for Oxford Township under the terms of this contract.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners approves an amendment to the original Schedule A (Sheriff
Deputies Contracted) of the Oakland County Sheriff's Department 1999-2003 Law
Enforcement Services Agreement with the Charter Township of Oxford to
increase the number of Patrol Investigators from one (1) to a new total of
two (2).

NOTE: For each PATROL DEPUTY II (WITH FILL-IN) identified above, ONLY the 0.C.S.D. shall, at no
additional cost to the MUNICIPALITY, provide a substitute (i.e., FILL-IN) SHERIFF'S DEPUTY to provide
LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES to the MUNICIPALITY whenever a PATROL DEPUTY II (WITH FILL-
IN) is absent from the MUNICIPALITY during any 80 hour bi-weekly period for any reason except those
reasons enumerated in Paragraph 5(a)(1) through Paragraph 5(a)(5) above.
NOTE: No Trainees shall be assigned by the 0.C.S.D. to perform the duties of any SHERIFF'S DEPUTY
contracted for and assigned to perform LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES under the terms of this
Agreement.

1999-2003 LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF OXFORD
Amendment 1
Pursuant to paragraph 23 of the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement
between the COUNTY and CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF OXFORD, the parties hereby agree to
amend said contract in accordance with the attached Schedule A.
All other contractual provisions of the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement
not otherwise affected by the attached Schedule A remain in full force and affect.
FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual assurances, promises, acknowledgments,
set forth in this Amendment 1 to the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement,
("Amendment") and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and adequacy of which
is hereby acknowledged, the undersigned hereby execute this Amendment on behalf of the
Parties, and by doing so legally obligate and bind the Parties to the terms and conditions of this
Contract.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, of the
Charter Township of Oxford, hereby acknowledges that he/she has been authorized by a
resolution of the Township Board, to execute this Amendment on behalf of the Municipality and
hereby accepts and binds the Municipality to the terms and conditions of this Amendment.

IN RE: SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT-CONTRACT AMENDMENT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT
SERVICES IN THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF OXFORD 1999-2003
TO: THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Pursuant to Rule XII-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has
reviewed the above referenced resolution and finds:
1. The Charter Township of Oxford wishes to amend its contract
with the Oakland County Sheriff for deputy services to the
township beginning January 1, 2001.
2. This amendment would add one (1) Deputy II Patrol Investigator
position resulting in a new Oxford total of two (2) Deputy II
Patrol Investigator positions, increasing the total number of
positions contracted to Oxford Township to twelve (12).
3. To support the new Patrol Investigator position, one (1)
unmarked vehicle (with mobile radio and prep radios), must be
added to the county fleet.
4. Contract revenue and operating costs equal $61,616 for the
balance of FY 2001, and $85,165 for FY 2002. FY 2001 capital
costs for vehicles and equipment of $27,556 is recommended to
be transferred from the non-departmental contingency account.
5. The FY 2001 and FY 2002 Budgets should be amended as specified
on Attachment A.
