Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
The Personnel Committee having reviewed the above-mentioned resolution on December 6, 2000,
recommends to the Oakland County Board of Commissioners the resolution be adopted.

MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION 00310 November 30, 2000

IN RE: Sheriff's Department-Contract Amendment for Law Enforcement Services in
the Charter Township of Springfield 1999-2003
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS Springfield Township has contracted with the Oakland County
Sheriff's Department to provide law enforcement services for the Township
(M.R.#98011); and
WHEREAS paragraph 23 of this contract provides that an amendment to this
contract must be approved by concurrent resolutions of both the Oakland County
Board of Commissioners and the Springfield Township Board; and
WHEREAS Springfield Township has approved a proposed amendment to the
contract (Schedule A-Sheriff's Deputies Contracted) which would add one (1)
Deputy II (with fill-in) resulting in a new total of eight (8) Deputy Irs (with
fill-in) being contracted and bring the total number of contracted deputies to
nine (9); and
WHEREAS the Sheriff has agreed to add one (1) Deputy II (with fill-in) for
Springfield Township under the terms of this contract.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners approves an amendment to the original Schedule A (Sheriff Deputies
Contracted) of the Oakland County Sheriff's Department 1999-2003 Law Enforcement
Services Agreement with the Charter Township of Springfield to add a Deputy II
(with fill-in).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that one (1) Deputy II position be created in the
Contracted Patrol Unit, Patrol Services Division of the Sheriff's Department.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this amendment will take effect on January 1,
2001.
Chairperson, on behalf of the Public Services Committee, I move the
adoption of the foregoing resolution.

NOTE: For each PATROL DEPUTY II (WITH FILL-IN) identified above, ONLY the 0.C.S.D. shall, at no
additional cost to the MUNICIPALITY, provide a substitute (i.e., FILL-IN) SHERIFF'S DEPUTY to provide
LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES to the MUNICIPALITY whenever a PATROL DEPUTY II (WITH FILL-
IN) is absent from the MUNICIPALITY during any 80 hour bi-weekly period for any reason except those
reasons enumerated in Paragraph 5(a)(1) through Paragraph 5(a)(5) above.
NOTE: No Trainees shall be assigned by the 0.C.S.D. to perform the duties of any SHERIFF'S DEPUTY
contracted for and assigned to perform LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES under the terms of this
Agreement.

1999-2003 LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF SPRINGFIELD
Amendment 1
Pursuant to paragraph 23 of the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement between the
COUNTY and CHARTER TOWNSHIP-OF SPRINGFIELD, the pates hereby agree to amend said contract
in accordance with the attached Schedule A.
All other contractual provisions of the 1999-203 Law Enforcement Services Agreement not
otherwise affected by the attached Schedule A remain in full force and affect,
FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual assurances, promises and acknowledgments set forth
in this Amendment 1 to the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Aoreement, ("Amendment") and for other
good and valuable consideration, the receipt and adequacy of which is hereby acknowledged, the
undersigned hereby execute this Amendment on behalf of the Parties, and by doing so legally obligate and
bind the Parties to the terms and conditions of this Contr

SERVICES IN THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF SPRINGFIELD 1999-2003
TO: THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Pursuant to Rule XII-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has
reviewed the above referenced resolution and finds:
1. The Charter Township of Springfield wishes to amend its
contract with the Oakland County Sheriff for deputy services
to the township beginning January 1, 2001.
2. This amendment would add one (1) Deputy II (with fill-in)
position resulting in a new Springfield total of eight (8)
Deputy II (with fill-in) positions, increasing the total
number of positions contracted to Springfield Township to nine
(9).
3. Contract revenue and operating costs equal $62,364 for the
balance of FY 2001, and $87,210 for FY 2002.
4. The FY 2001 and FY 2002 Budgets should be amended as specified
on Attachment A.
