HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 2000.12.14 - 25955i; MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION #00312 BY: COMMISSIONER KAY SCHMID, DISTRICT 417 IN RE; ENVIRONMENTAL INFRASTRUCTURE FUND REIMBURSEMENT FOR PROJECT IN THE CITY OF NOVI - FY 2000 ALLOCATION TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Commissioners established an Environmental Infrastructure Funds and Disbursement Policy per Miscellaneous Resolution #99093 in an effort to increase the share of dollars flowing into infrastructure projects for the County and its cities, villages and townships (CVTs); and WHEREAS pursuant to the Disbursement Policy, the City of Novi has submitted a resolution of authorization to the County for reimbursement of expenses incurred in connection with an eligible environment remediation of improvement project; and WHEREAS the City of Novi is requesting reimbursement for work related to the East Lake Drive Water Main Extension Project; and WHEREAS the FY 2000 authorized amount of funding for the City of Novi is $192,638.01 from the Environmental Infrastructure Fund as repayment to the City of Novi for expenses incurred in connection with environmental remediation or improvement projects. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approves the projects submitted by the City of Novi as eligible for reimbursement from the Environmental Infrastructure Fund. • BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board authorizes an FY 2000 appropriation in the amount of $192,63.8.01 from the Environmental Infrastructure Fund (Account #90-263248-41000-3983) to repay the City of Novi for expenses incurred in connection with environmental remediation or improvement projects, once proper invoices are presented. It is my understanding that our East Lake Drive Water Main Extension Project is a qualifying project and that the reimbursement available totals $192,638.01. E It) N-0 co . .t- -,-; c cat > cs) 1E c) ._ E .- > 0 til c , -0 es e2 I a) I I. 115; 11110 i-)t- u) r, 048 347-0460 general informatio WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, / /Maryanne Cornelius City Clerk LMi- • , ••,- • RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT OAKLAND COUNTY ENVIRONMENTAL INFRASTRUCTURE FUND EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT REQUEST upon the recommendation of the Oakland County Executive, the Oakland County Board of Commissioners has established an Environmental Infrastructure Fund to assist Oakland County cities, villages, and townships in addressing clean water and storm water needs; and, Oakland County's Environmental Infrastructure Fund Program authorizes Oakland County cities, villages, and townships to apply for reimbursement of eligible expenses incurred in connection with environmental remediations or improvements relating to ground and/or surface water, water supply, sewer, and/or drainage systems, and/or water pollution control efforts incurred as part of a city, village or township project; and, the City of Novi has been advised that approximately $192,638.01 is available to the City to apply toward a qualifying project; and, the City of Novi has incurred expenses, and will continue to incur expenses, in convection with the East Lake Drive Water Main Extension Project. This project, costing $859,116.00 for construction alone, is intended to serve as an emergency bypass for the City's primary water transmission along Novi Road between Thirteen and Fourteen Mile Roads, as well as providing a source of "City" water for the residents of Groll's Edgewater Subdivision, Shore Acres, Supervisor's Plat No. 1, Chapman's Walled Lake, Ceneque Shores, and Czenkusch'e Addition Subdivisions. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council Members of the City of Novi hereby authorizes and directs its Director of Public Services, as agent for the City of Novi, in the manner and to the extent provided for under Oakland County Board of Commissioner Miscellaneous Resolution 99093, to request reimbursement of eligible project expenses under Oakland County's Environmental Infrastructure Fund. CERTIFICATION I, Maryanne Cornelius, duly appointed Clerk of the City of Novi, do hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and complete copy of a resolution adopted by the City Council of the City of Novi at a Regular meeting held this 2nd day of October, 2000. Fund for FY 2000, to reimburse the City of Novi for this project; no additional appropriation is required. 2. The Committee recommends adoption of the resolution.
