HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 2000.01.13 - 26002December 16, 1999 MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION 199335 BY: Personnel Committee, Thomas Law, Chairperson IN RE: PERSONNEL DEPARTMENT - CHANGES TO MERIT RULE 2 - SALARIES To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS currently the amount of the Shift Differential bonus is specified in Merit Rule 2.11.1.1; and WHEREAS the attached char9e to Merit Rule 2.11.1.1 no longer specifies the amount of the Night Shift Bonus; and WHEREAS the deletion of the specified amount of the bonus from this rule will allow for approval of an increase without a Merit Rule change; and WHEREAS the deletion of the specified amount will help to expedite and simplify the request and approval procedures. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners approves this change and that the Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners, on behalf of the County of Oakland, is authorized to execute the Merit System Rule changes, consistent with the provisions of Miscellaneous Resolution #4606, Section IV, A. Chairperson, on behalf of the Personnel Committee, I move the adoption of the foregoing resolution. PERSONNEL COMMITTEE Personnel Committee Vote: Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote. PROPOSED CHANGE IN MEIRTI SYSTEM RULE RULE NUMBER Current Wording Night Shift Differential 2.11.1.1 This is a bonus of 35 cents per 1.Gur, added to the salary rates of full time eligible and part-time eligible employees in certain County positions for hours actually worked on the afternoon and midnight shift. Effective July 1, 1992, Night Shift Differential shall be 40 cents per hour for eligible employees assigned to eligible shifts. 2.11. , Proposed Wording Night Shift Differential 2A1.1.1 This is a bonus added to the salary rates of full time eligible and part-time eligible employees in certain County positions for hours actually worked on the afterm Km and midnight shift. The amount of the bonus shall be determined by Board of Commissioners Resolution or applicable collective bargaining agreements.
