HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 2000.11.01 - 26177October 19, 2000 MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION 100269 BY: Personnel Committee, Thomas Law, Chairperson IN RE: PERSONNEL DEPARTMENT — COLLECTIVE BARGAINING FISCAL YEAR 2001WAGE REOPENER FOR EMPLOYEES REPRESENTED BY MICHIGAN NURSES ASSOCIATION (MNA) To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS the County of Oakland and the Michigan Nurses Association, have been negotiating a wage reopener provided for by the current collective bargaining agreement; and WHEREAS an agreement has been reached regarding wages for Fiscal Year 2001 for approximately 126 employees of the Health Division, and said agreement has been reduced to writing; and WHEREAS the agreement has been reviewed by your Personnel Committee, which recommends approval of the agreement. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners approves the proposed wage agreement between the County of Oakland and the Michigan Nurses Association, covering the period of October 1, 2000, through September 30, 2001, and that the Board Chairperson on behalf of the County of Oakland, is authorized to execute said agreement as attached. The collective bargaining agreement shall only be modified as indicated below. WAGES: Bi-weekly salary schedule effective with the pay period beginning September 23, 2000, shall be: Base 1 Year 2 Year 3 Year 4 Year 5 Year Public Health Nurse I $1189.66 $1261.34 $1333.06 $1404.69 $1476.46 $1548.31 Public Health Nurse II $1316.27 $1395.56 $1474.88 $1554.36 $1633.65 $1727.07 Public Health Nurse III $1573.03 $1667.67 $1762.55 $1857.13 $1951.89 $2046.65 In addition, effective October 1, 2000, all employee benefit modifications implemented on a County wide basis for general non-represented employees shall be applied to employees represented by this bargaining unit. FISCAL NOTE (M.R. 00269) November 2, 2000 BY: FINANCE COMMITTEE, SUE ANN DOUGLAS, CHAIRPERSON IN RE: PERSONNEL DEPARTMENT - COLLECTIVE BARGAINING FISCAL YEAR 2001 WAGE REOPENER FOR EMPLOYEES REPRESENTED BY MICHIGAN NURSES ASSOCIATION (MNA) TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: Pursuant to Rule XII-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has reviewed the above referenced resolution and finds: 1. The County of Oakland and the Michigan Nurses Association have negotiated a wage reopener provided for by the current collective bargaining agreement. 2. An agreement has been reached for the period covering October 1, 2000 through September 30, 2001, for approximately 126 employees of the Health Division. 3. This agreement provides for a 4% wage increase effective with the pay period beginning September 23, 2000. 4. In addition, effective October 1, 2000, all employee benefit modifications implemented on a County wide basis for general non-represented employees will be applied to employees represented by this bargaining unit. 5. Funds have been included in the FY 2001 and FY 2002 budget to cover this increase, no additional General Fund / General Purpose appropriation is required.
