RE: MR #00292 SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT-CONTRACT AMENDMENT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES
IN THE CITY OF ROCHESTER HILLS 1999-2003
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
The Personnel Committee having reviewed the above-mentioned resolution on November 15, 2000
recommends to the Oakland County Board of Commissioners the resolution be amended as follows and adopted:
The third WHEREAS paragraph to read: WHEREAS the City of Rochester Hills is requesting a proposed
amendment to the contract (Schedule A-Sheriff's Deputies Contracted) which would add one (1) Detective Sergeant
Deputy I! (no fill) resulting in a new total of two (2) Detective Sergeants thitly-44436,1--Depuly-14 (no-fill) being
contracted and bring the total number of contracted deputies to fifty-five (55) fifty-ser-(46); and
In the fourth WHEREAS paragraph change Dleputy-Ilto Detective Sergeant
The NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED PARAGRAPH to read:
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approves an
amendment to Schedule A (Sheriff Deputies Contracted) of the Oakland County Sheriff" Department 1999-2003 Law
Enforcement Services Agreement with the City of Rochester Hills to add one (1) Detective Sergeant Deputy II (no-fill)
and change the number of Detective Sergeants Deputy -14 being contracted from one (1) thitly-five.435) to a new total
of two (2)-thicly-eix--(34).
Replace the first BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED paragraph with:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that one (1) unmarked vehicle (with mobile, prep radio) be added to the
County fleet.
Also to amend SCHEDULE A and A-1 by changing the date -1.2114.420 to 11/30/00 and the Number(s) of Sheriff's
Deputies Contracted to read 35 -36. Also to change the TOTAL to 55 from 36.
And to replace the Amendment 1 Contract Agreement page with the attached.

OAKLAND COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
1999-2003 LAW ENFORMCEMENT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
ROCHESTER HILLS
Amendment 1
Pursuant to paragraph 23 of the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement
between the COUNTY and ROCHERSTER HILLS, the parties hereby agree to amend said
contract in accordance with the attached Schedule A.
All other contractual provisions, of the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement
not otherwise affected by the attached Schedule A, remain in full force and affect.
FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual assurances, promises, acknowledgments,
set forth in this Amendment 1 to the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement,
("Amendment") and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and adequacy of which
is hereby acknowledged, the undersigned hereby execute this Amendment on behalf of the
Parties, and by doing so legally obligate and bind the Parties to the terms and conditions of this
Contract.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, of the City of
Rochester Hills, hereby acknowledges that he/she has been authorized by a resolution of the City
Council, to execute this Amendment on behalf of the Municipality and hereby accepts and binds
the Municipality to the terms and conditions of this Amendment.

MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION #00292 November 2, 2000

IN RE: Sheriff's Department-Contract Amendment for Law Enforcement Services in
the City of Rochester Hills 1999-2003
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS the City of Rochester Hills has contracted with the Oakland
County Sheriff's Department to provide law enforcement services for the City
(M.R.#98011); and
WHEREAS paragraph 23 of this agreement provides that an amendment to
this agreement must be approved by concurrent resolutions of both the Oakland
County Board of Commissioners and the City of Rochester Hills Council; and
WHEREAS the City of Rochester Hills is requesting a proposed amendment
to the contract (Schedule A-Sheriff's Deputies Contracted) which would add one
(1) Deputy II (no-fill) resulting in a new total of thirty-six (36) Deputy
II's (no-fill) being contracted and bring the total number of contracted
deputies to fifty-six (56); and
WHEREAS the Sheriff has agreed to add one (1) Deputy II (no-fill) for
the City of Rochester Hills under the terms of this agreement.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners approves an amendment to Schedule A (Sheriff Deputies
Contracted) of the Oakland County Sheriff's Department 1999-2003 Law
Enforcement Services Agreement with the City of Rochester Hills to add one
(1) Deputy II (no-fill) and change the number of Deputy II's being contracted
from thirty-five (35) to a new total of thirty-six (36).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that one (1) Deputy II position be created in
the Patrol Services Division/Contracted Patrol-Rochester Hills unit.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this amendment will take effect on January
1, 2001.

adoption of the foregoing resolution.

NOTE: For each PATROL DEPUTY II (WITH FILL-IN) identified above, ONLY the 0.C.S.D. shall, at no
additional cost to the MUNICIPALITY, provide a substitute (i.e., FILL-IN) SHERIFF'S DEPUTY to provide
LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES to the MUNICIPALITY whenever a PATROL DEPUTY II (WITH FILL-
IN) is absent from the MUNICIPALITY during any 80 hour bi-weekly period for any reason except those

NOTE: No Trainees shall be assigned by the 0.C.S.D. to perform the duties of any SHERIFF'S DEPUTY

IN RE: SHERIFF DEPARTMENT - CONTRACT AMENDMENT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT
SERVICES IN THE CITY OF ROCHESTER HILLS 1999 -2003
TO: THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Pursuant to Rule XII-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has
reviewed the above named Miscellaneous Resolution and finds:
1. The City of Rochester Hills wishes to amend its contract with
the Oakland County Sheriff for deputy services to the city
beginning January 1, 2001.
2. This amendment would add one (1) Detective Sergeant (no-fill)
position resulting in a new total of two (2) Detective
Sergeants, increasing the total number of positions contracted
to Rochester Hills to fifty-five (55).
3. To support the new Detective Sergeant position, one (1)
unmarked vehicle (with mobile radio and prep radios), must be
added to the county fleet.
4. Contract revenue and operating costs equal $69,739 for FY
2001, and $97,523 for FY 2002. FY 2001 capital costs for
vehicles and equipment of $27,558 will come from the
contingency account.
5. Budget amendments for FY 2001 and FY 2002 are shown on
Attachment A.
